Help my students to see U.S. history as something that is relevant to their lives today through seeing artifacts, photographs, speeches and stories about people who lived through amazing events like the Revolutionary War or the Underground Railroad. Junior high students need to see examples of strong visuals and captivating writing in order to understand the past. In a digital world, it can be hard for them to visualize what the lives of early Americans were like. Primary sources give them detailed visuals from the past. In addition, a few fun pieces of historical fiction will help round out our class library.
