Living in a rural area, we have many low-income families in our community. Many of our students do not have access to books. I would like to help them explore the world through reading, but also help build their confidence with reading fluency. We will continue working on reading comprehension skills as well. By helping fund this project, we will be able to purchase books for the classroom library where students will grow as independent readers. We will begin a "Read to Self Time" for 15 minutes each day. Having more books will allow my students more choices when they book shop each week.
