Every year, thousands of inspiring picture books are published. After teaching for ten years, I am discovering that my classroom library is in dire need of an update. My students have many books to choose from, but something is still missing. The missing piece is this--diversity--I would LOVE to fill my bookshelves with more books that focus on diversity, mindfulness and global citizenship. I feel that the books I have selected will inspire my students to celebrate their differences and become more mindful citizens as we explore these titles together. These outstanding titles will be used to teach students about different cultures, inspiring individuals, and a few silly stories that will encourage kindness and mindfulness along the way!
