My students need to have access to as many hands-on activities as possible. Many of them come from low-income families where they cannot afford to buy these supplies. They need to practice their fine-motor and writing skills, since, they are developing the control of their hands. By having journals and workbooks, they can practice drawing and writing at home. In addition, having counting manipulatives will allow them to associate numbers with objects, it would provide them with an alternative method to learn the material. During these very stressful times, it is imperative that our students receive social-emotional support which can be facilitated by having social-emotional thinking cards.
