My students work daily on Chromebooks using Lexia, Epic, and SeeSaw computer programs. We struggle with the lack of headphones due to our low-income community and parents that cannot provide these essentials. A class set would be great to use daily. My students are working at different levels and if they can use headphones, they are able to focus better on the tasks and be successful in literacy. This is exciting because my students can practice literacy skills everyday. The constant practice will help them improve skills in decoding, blending, reading, spelling and comprehension using headphones to listen to the differentiated task on the Chromebook. Since many of my students entered the year below grade level, these headphones are essential to helping them practice at their own pace to meet first grade standards.
