We would love to have these books to help keep spirits up. We always did read alouds while in the classroom, and it is one of those things we can still do almost the same way from home. These read aloud books can also provide the students with another opportunity to extend learning in a way we could not in the classroom. We can focus on multiple aspects of fluency. More read aloud sessions allow the students to hear and develop a good reading rate and prosody, or reading expression. This is something we wouldn’t have time to focus on within the classroom, but can really hone in on while distance learning.
