Literacy is an essential element to a child's development and opens the door to a brighter future. However, 68% of fourth graders read below proficient level, and 82% of those are from low-income families. We need to reach our kids before it is too late! The goal of our "Rocket into Reading" project is to add reading materials to the classroom that will encourage students to expand their ELA skills through genres and topics in which they can relate.
