Help me bring fresh titles to my fifth-grade classroom. I am a second-year teacher who started the school year in kindergarten and three weeks later was asked to move to fifth-grade due to a teacher leaving. This year has been a challenge between various student levels and behaviors. Coming from kindergarten I only had a few books for fifth graders. I was lucky enough that other teachers donated a few books. However, my students deserve a classroom filled with a variety of books. Books have brought my students comfort throughout this challenging year. My students’ favorite time of the day is when they have the chance to read books that really spark their interest and personalities. I constantly have students asking me when I will be able to provide more books and stories for them to dive into. This project would allow my students to not only read new titles but engage in different varieties of readings from difficulty or genre. Creating a classroom library can be expensive but worth it when seeing the look on their face when new books are added. Help bring a smile to a student’s face and help grow the love for reading!
