When we teach social and emotional skills can improve students’ mental health, reduce anxiety and depression, bullying, and improve academic performance. We will analyze the emotions of the characters we are reading about, we not only gain a greater understanding of the text but also a greater understanding of their own feelings. We will ask Social Emotional based questions at different stages of the reading process. This is an effective and time-efficient strategy for building our students' social and emotional intelligence. We are asking for more literature to be placed in the hands, minds, and ears of our fifth grade students. A diverse collection of forty-five new reading materials at a multitude of reading levels for our inclusion classroom will cultivate my students' reading skills and impact their Social Emotional health. Please help us in this endeavor of gaining more literature and Social Emotional growth.
