I teach math and science in my school. I see the devastating effects on learning that the pandemic has created. My students have multiple gaps in their learning and understanding in math that I strive to fill using art and literature. With these picture books, my students will have a way to visually see math concepts that they struggle to comprehend. Also, science concepts will be introduced and reinforced in an engaging way. Through art projects, we will be able to visually represent science concepts. We will paint life cycles, draw the effects of severe weather, and build houses for bats. I also hope to invite people from our community into our classroom to engage in these art projects together.
