The TI Inspire has a unique way of transforming data from different types of display. With an inspire in their hands, they will be able to make connections across multiple visual representations of data (such as converting a dot plot to box and whisker, or even a histogram). With the ability to change the display of the data, they can see the effects of each graph and be able to choose the best fit for the data. It would wonderful to see the multiple representations on one screen because it will allow the students to make connections among the different visuals, while also making it easier and more logical to choose the model of best fit. You wouldn’t have to hammer home the rote memorization of “find the highest r^2 value and don’t worry about the plot themselves”
