We do daily writing activities to help the student get used to writing out thought or formulating answers. This helps them when we have open responses to questions in our testing and daily work in both reading and math. We also use them for our writing projects and research papers to collect data and formulate rough drafts. With our daily writing assignments, we do daily editing. This process encourages students to monitor their work. They learn the importance of having a complete thought, making sure each sentence has punctuation and adding adjectives to make their writing colorful. This process is used throughout their school career.
