The requested items meet our SEL Framework for Personal Well-Being and Self-Management. Our students learn to become more self-aware of their strengths and limitations while celebrating uniqueness. Providing sensory tools help with stress management and coping skills. Appreciating diversity in the classroom helps our students build confidence so they are more prepared to return back to general education classrooms with their grade-level peers. This process looks different for each individual and we strive to provide the proper resources and tools to meet each of their unique needs. The social emotional needs of our students are just important as their academic needs.
