This year we have read a picture book a day, every single day. With these books, we are able to share with each other and learn things about ourselves, as well as others. These books serve as mirrors- a chance to see ourselves, and as windows- a chance to see into the world of others. Reading picture books each day has truly made a huge impact on our classroom culture and community. Reading books about tolerance, acceptance, kindness, and so many other topics gives us the opportunity to learn and have discussions that may not happen otherwise throughout our busy day.
