Many of my students struggle with reading on grade level. Research tells us that if students read at their just-right level then their ability to grow as readers is greater. The problem is when students grow they become self-conscience about their reading and they pick books that don't help them as readers but make them look good. Having a variety of high-interest books at lower reading levels will help these students feel good about what they are reading, and will also grow their brains. For any student to succeed as a reader, they should feel good about reading. These books will help our classroom support this goal.
