My class loves their class pet rabbit, Pepper. One of their favorite things to do is to read to Pepper. We are known as the Reading Rabbits. We desperately need new books in our class to replace those that have been well loved over the past 25 years spent inspiring students to read. Nothing describes the feeling of holding a new book in your hands. The feel of the smooth, glossy cover and the fresh smell of newly printed paper is something that my students who live in a rural community in South Carolina rarely experience. I need several copies of each book so that the students can learn in small group environments at their reading level. I chose books with topics that the students are interested in order to instill the joy of being a lifelong reader.
