Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During lessons students sit at their desks and currently my students can sit in the hard chair or laying on the floor with a clip board for the sensory of the carpet. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they have some sort of sensory at their desks. They almost always are more engaged in the less and read more when they have the sensory tools to calm. My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive when they have some sensory seating or tool to help them focus. The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them options to make their seating or area more efficient in the learning process. The inflatable soft seats will allow my students to sit in their seat with some movement, but will also given them the sensory they seek. These will be extremely beneficial for some students that just need to get the wiggles out. The books are for my 3rd graders who seek books to read in class, however my class is new and we do not have the level of books they need. I have seen how sensory can positively affect my students work and demeanor and hope that the additional options will help us grow even more!
