Individuals with autism struggle with using strategies and tools to recognize their own need for support when being over stimulated. Each student's need is different depending on how they may exhibit sensory overload. These materials will be used throughout the day to help students with autism function within the educational setting. They will help when they are displaying sensory over stimulation. These items will be used as a tool to help students with autism, when there is a need for sensory integration when they are over stimulated. Teaching the students how to use these tools will lead to students being self-advocates for their sensory needs.
