Struggling readers will often pick up a comic book because the pictures and visuals are less intimidating than a typical book. The goal of this book makeover is to get students excited about growing as readers with engaging and empowering book titles. This project will help support reading groups and book clubs, as well as class novels and read alouds. This project will change the way students see books. Books will no longer be thought of as an assignment or work to be done, but now will help students reach their reading goals in a meaningful way through connection to their topics of interest.
