After attending the regional Get Your Teach On conference in Houston, a spark was ignited. Now, I want to feed that spark and set my class on fire! I have been inspired to change the way I teach in order to reach every single student. Before attending the GYTO regional conference, I doubted my desire and ability to continue teaching. After, I couldn't wait to get back to my classroom and share all that I had learned. I am confident that the national conference will provide me with even more techniques that I can use to help my students succeed. The national GYTO conference provides specific, research-based instructional techniques that I can bring back to my classroom. These best practices will increase engagement and rigor, thereby enhancing learning and raising test scores. Some of the topics covered include: interdisciplinary teaching, fostering critical thinking through creative conversations, and managing small groups. These sessions are created and taught by leaders in the field of education.
