Our students are returning to the school building for the first time since March 13, 2020. These materials will help us prepare a welcoming space for all students as many of them enter our space for the first time. Students will feel more relaxed because we can communicate our expectations and instructions clearly using the whiteboard easel. They will be able to focus on their learning during this time of transition back to face-to-face instruction after more than a year of remote learning.
The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card and the posters will help us set up bulletin boards and wall decor that acknowledges the student's experiences over the past year and makes them feel represented within our walls. We want our students to know how much we appreciate their resiliency and hard work.
Staring at the same bare walls every day is not conducive to learning. We want our students to feel inspired and uplifted by the visual aesthetic of their classrooms. The learning outcomes we expect are higher daily attendance rates, improved social-emotional well-being, and the ability for students to focus more on their academic course work in a space that feels inviting to them.
