A classroom should be a place where students look forward to going. This is especially true for students in Kindergarten, who in my school district are leaving the comforts of home for the first time--they must enjoy coming to school. There is no better way to show my support for a student-centered classroom than creating a classroom from a child's point of view. Comfortable students are engaged students. A comfortable, welcoming classroom will help my students to focus on learning. I am asking for some soft seats, a lap desk, and four comfy floor seats. Flexible seating that I am requesting will encourage my students to find their best spot to stay calm, be productive and learn to the best of their ability.
