Great literature inspires us to dream and enriches our compassionate understanding of others. By adding more diverse literature to our book clubs, I hope to inspire more students. The book club projects are built around 3-6 students who all read the same book and produce writing assignments as well as having many Socratic inquiries. I plan to use the Donors Choose books to enrich my classroom library, for it is in desperate need of an upgrade. When students are socially motivated to stretch their reading skills, their conversations take flight and are often inspiring to others. Our school has a new podcast studio where we plan to record some of the book club discussions. We want to make reading the new cool.
