Learning is meant to be a fun exploration of new ideas and the more hands on activities the better. My class loves to create, build and play together. This year has brought many challenges in providing opportunities to help my students grow academically, socially and emotionally while still adhering to safety guidelines. We will use these supplies and the play dough to learn many essential concepts throughout the year. Play dough can be used for countless educational purposes. We will learn subtraction by making play dough balls and squishing the number we are subtracting, we will build shapes, strengthen our fine motor skills needed for writing, use the cookie cutters to cut out letters and create sight words and labels for our creations. Play dough will help engage my students in a tactile, play based learning experience.
