Most of my students would never have the opportunity to take dance classes if it were not for this program. The program is in its third year and students have had the chance to learn jazz, ballet, hip hop and Latin ballroom styles. Providing tap shoes to these students will enhance their learning of dance technique. By learning tap dance, students will gain a whole new way of movement. They learn rhythm, synchronization and musicality. As students master steps in each style of dance, I can see their self-confidence growing. They are excited to show family and friends what they have learned, and they are eager to learn more!
