Children need to move and flexible seating gives them that opportunity without being disruptive. I have chosen the wobble chair and bounce ball for my students who need to be on the constant move without being disruptive. I chose the floor cushions and floor chairs for close group work stations. I also chose the floor seating options because through observations my students naturally gravitate towards the floor when given a choice. This project will help 125 students channel their energy in a more positive way rather than disruptive. I service a lot of students with ADHD who have made drastic improvements already with the small change I’ve done thus far. Most of my student who are seen as behavioral issues aren’t bad kids at all, they just have tons of energy and nowhere to release it all. I truly want to be able to provide my students with an outlet to let their energy out in a positive way, so they can focus on learning and growing their minds. I have already seen huge improvements by the little adjustments I’ve made so far. I can only imagine how significantly they can grow if I had the right resources and funds to fit their needs.
