My students love their English classroom, but what kid does not like hands-on activities? My students are no exception and they like to pair up English and music, English and arts and craft. This is why I need an assortment of colored paper, glue, colored markers, scissors, glue, tape and other supplies. One of my many activities is to pair up a poem with a painting. Another one is to create a piece of art that illustrates a poem that they wrote. Indeed, I find that students are more likely to remember poems through arts and crafts activities and they are more involved in creating a poem when they think about "illustrating it" through visual arts. Some of the productions will be included in the RiverBend Review publication.
