As mentioned before the students I serve are a diverse group who come from all over the world. Many students are new to the United States and are beginning to learn American history. Because of their international backgrounds many are English language learners and learn through variety of techniques including use of images, video and other mediums to support their understanding. iPads offer a unique opportunity for students to learn in a variety of ways that supplement the instruction they are getting in class. Other features that can be utilized include translation apps so students can get the instruction in their native language as well as in English which assists in language acquisition. Additionally, iPads are great for differentiating instruction for special needs students, as well as general education students.
