Flexible seating options will give my students choice as to where they would like to engage with class material. The use of stand up desks will allow students movement and this will only increase engagement. Rather than students being relegated to traditional table seating for an entire class period, students will have the choice and freedom to work at different locations throughout the classroom. Flexible seating options can also be connected to positive classroom behaviors; the more a student(s) demonstrate pre-determined class behaviors, the more chances they will have to choose flexible seating options. Flexible seating options will be a tremendous asset to my classroom both from an engagement as well as achievement standpoint!
