My students have expressed their interest to learn new and innovative things in U.S History. They also stated they would like to use fun educational platforms to better learn the Content in an innovative and creative way. My students will use the IPads for many new educational platforms But one example in particular is Nearpod. Nearpod is a platform for students to show what they know along with learning as well. In my class, once the material is presented and learned students are able to access polls to questions, fill in the blanks to phrases , use 3D visuals to feel as if they are right in the picture, access YouTube Informational videos, and so much more on just one topic. It’s so many strategies presented in just this one example for accessing new strategies and learning new content . Many of my students lack the required tools, resources, and materials needed to successfully immerse themselves in History . Our school is home to over 900 students who come from minority backgrounds and absolutely love to History. The diversity of students this school serves socially and academically stays the same year after year. To be able to provide them with something they will enjoy doing during school, without violating any rules, will be the best feeling for them. Our students are always dreaming and using academic discourse in politics communicating their interests and thoughts all over campus. Now, we will work on communicating and expressing ourselves through History.
