Literacy is of the upmost importance, in first grade. We have been working very hard to help students become literate and achieve reading goals with the help of support staff and trainings. Our students do not often get the support they need, at home, to become literate. Their families work various jobs and often just being with each other is important for the students. Receiving enjoyable books and reading furniture can benefit them in that it will entice them to be excited about reading. Students will be able to select from various books, that are given to them, that will help keep their interest in reading. The reading furniture will allow them to be comfortable while they are reading a good book. Students will be eager to grab a book and cozy up in a beanbag chair. Please help support our first graders in becoming literate and achieving their literacy goals!
