We currently have a smaller classroom carpet that is cramped for all of my young students. They often bump into each other, even while sitting with their legs crossed. As a result, they get distracted because they are trying to remain in their small assigned spots. The current classroom carpet we have is designed for a smaller group of children. We have tried many different configurations of students to maximize the most space for each child. A comfortable and focused classroom environment is our ultimate goal. My students have expressed many times that they wish they had more space. They love to listen to books and do whole group discussions from our carpeted space. We hope to have a beautiful new classroom carpet that follows appropriate building codes and regulations for schools.
