Our teacher are in the process of learning a new reading curriculum that was adopted this year. It requires the use of big books and anchor charts. During the read alouds, teachers need to display these large books for the students to interact with. Having an easel makes it so much easier to focus on the content of the book than finding out the best way to hold a book. Also during the writer's workshop, teachers need to constantly model writing. Teachers can focus on a whole group lesson on the carpet while using this easel to hold up chart paper to write on.
