In today's world engineering with creativity and innovation are primary skills for success. My first grade students use a variety of materials to create and design innovative structures. Having popular lego bricks in the classroom will increase the students ability to create projects. Many of our engineering projects are geared towards solving a problem that integrates literacy, such as: Build a bridge that will support the Three Billy Goats Gruff. Other projects are geared more toward student innovation such as: design your dream house or how tall can you build a building? My students are curious, and anxious to learn through engineering. Having legos in our classroom will greatly increase their ability to creative.
