These materials will be used for all of my students for years to come. We work on specific skills (letter and number recognition, fine motor-grasping, writing, cutting, gluing, art/sensory exposure, shapes, colors, social skills, emotional coping strategies, gross motor skills, following directions, sequencing, and patterning). These materials will make learning fun for students as they get to explore different materials and activities while learning essential skills for the educational future. It is important that students learn to generalize their skills through a variety of activities. Most students learn the names of letters by learning the ABC song. In our class, we further that learning by teaching students to recognize the written letters, how to match the name and letter, as well as learning their sounds. These skills are an important aspect of their pre-reading development. The more exposure children have to the same content in different ways, the more they will retain and generalize. By working in small groups most of the day, students get more concentrated time to develop skills and work. These materials will make such a difference in their learning experience!
