Because of severe cuts in funding for our program, the school lacks many resources that would be effective tools for the classroom. Technology is a very engaging way to reach these students because there are many resources online to support and supplement their learning. Therefore, I am requesting support to secure 15 Chromebooks, headphones, and a charging cart for storage. These devices will be an effective way to incorporate technology into the daily lessons to support students in their acquisition of the English language. Another benefit of procuring these devices is that students will be able to access technology that they may not have at home. Most of our students are from low-income backgrounds and many have limited access to technology and other learning tools outside of school. There are many different software programs online that can help students improve their reading, writing, and speaking of the English language – which is what we strive to teach them each day.
