These cubbies would allow students to find all of their belongings in one place. This would be a welcome change from their current routine, which is to dig through a crate of P.E. shoes or a pile of snow boots, rummage through a basket full of snow pants, and search the crowded hooks on the wall to find their coats that have been crushed between their classmates’ backpacks. The cubbies would also teach the students valuable lessons about how to take responsibility for personal items, and how to maintain an organized environment. These cubbies will help our classroom feel less cluttered, which in turn, will allow students to increase their focus on daily activities. Research has shown that students who are in an organized classroom, learn better. Therefore, I believe that these cubbies will be beneficial to their educational journey.
