Good Afternoon, and thank you so much for visiting our page. My name is Jamie Tate, and I have the honor of serving as the head coach of the Yukon High School Boys Golf team. I am proud to say we are currently one of the top teams in the state going into the 2021 season. However, our high ranking sadly does not translate into high funding records. With COVID-19 blasting through last spring, we were unable to host a home tournament which is normally our major fundraiser of the year. Because of this, we lost almost all funding for this season. With 17 boys, our program is growing rapidly, but money doesn't go as far as it has before. Though difficult, it is my goal for our program to remain a non "Pay to Play Sport". I am given funding to attend tournaments, purchase (some) equipment, and provide a practice facility. This year I was able to provide each member of our team a polo, hat, and sweatshirt for cold weather (a huge step down from previous years). However, I do not have enough money to purchase one of the most needed items - golf balls. I take each Varsity Member to 10 tournaments a year, and they receive one sleeve of golf balls (3 balls) per tournament. Junior Varsity (12 players) receives the same but for 5 tournaments. Altogether (with some leftover inventory) this places us at a need of 22 dozen golf balls to get through this season. This is about a $700 expense to ensure we get the quality the boys need. I understand that money is tight for everyone, and I thank you all for any donation that you may feel called to give.
