I am hoping that my students will be able to listen to books on cd. Most of my students would benefit from reading and listening to literature. From my experience, the more a child is read to the more successful they become. It increases their vocabulary, knowledge, and independence. Another skill my students need to learn is to correctly form letters when writing. It would be fantastic to have Boogie boards so they can learn to write these letters on something besides paper. Some other valuable tools for my classroom are the stability disc, sensory relief and wheel timers. The stability discs are useful when students are unable to focus. The disc allows movement in their seat and helps the student with focus. The sensory relief and wheel timers are also good to use for breaks between learning activities. The children love to use these tools or as they would say toys.
