With the water and sand tables children will practice waiting their turn and side by side play. This is the first steps to creating interactive play with peers and will move towards sharing and taking turns. An important part of my job is to get children socially ready to move to the next grade and by using these two tools I can implement social engagement with my students. The caterpillar will promote safe physical activity, and social interaction in the tunnel. It will also encourage kind words such as excuse me, can I play, and can I have a turn?
