Our students are on this amazing journey where they want to pick up books and read. It would be amazing to offer them a place in the classroom where they rest and escape into the pages of a thrilling tale. Flexible seating options such as bean bags would allow for multiple students to have a comfortable place to read, dream, and become comfortable with curling up with a good book. On a rainy day, this would be a perfect place for them to sit and look at the rain drops beating against the window pane, as they recall the details of a weather book. The organizational bins are also a much needed component as well. We are collecting many books in our classroom and the storage and organization of those books would be amazing. It will give students a sense of pride and owner ship because they will be their own Librarian replacing books and keeping the area tidy. Teaching children responsibility is an important life lesson that starts at any age. My children love having tasks or jobs assigned to them, this is a great way to promote accountability and team work as well.
