iPads will lead the way to creating student-centered learners! Some of the platforms we use weekly are; translation, Readworks, Newsela, Schoology, Kahoot, quizziz, Tween Tribune, and Immersive Reader. Many of our new to the country students are without the technology of our native students. The use of this technology is the movement of teaching, as we create blended learning enviroments for all students. I love teaching my students to become lifelong, independent learners and the use of iPads will open a whole new world to each of them. The use of iPads in my room would be such a blessing to myself, but mostly to my students as they become fluent English speakers. With English learners, the building of background in many situations will be more readily available; giving our students a much needed foundation for understanding and internalizing academic vocabulary to compete in the ever changing education system.
