Our class will use the light table and accessories to build fine motor skills, to increase interactive play, increase motivation (they are drawn to light and how light changes the look of objects), decrease frustration, and improve social play. This is a table top light table so they will not need additional floor space and two children can work together. Diffused light attracts and holds the learners attention. Using the light table we would mix and match colors, explore nature by using magnifying glasses or magnifying blocks to see what leaves look like with light behind them. We would use it to stack and build blocks, practice one-to-one correspondence using clear, colored discs and for math, sort colors using transparent colored objects or pom poms.
