These resources will assist our students in providing more hands-on and visual aids. This will help them become more engaged in the class as well as to easily understand the more complex science concepts. All of our students are very visual and have more difficulty reading and understanding what they are reading. Even though many students are passionate about science, they require lots of interactive resources to keep them interested and focused. With the use of these resources, our students will be able to access a tactile/kinesthetic and visual component of learning that goes beyond the textbooks. As we enter into our discussion of evolution and the creation of different species, we can use the 4D models to understand the differing components of species. Using the interactive maps, we are able to understand how plate tectonics has played a role in the geography of the world around us, and how land structures could be created. We can understand and log the differences in our weather patterns over the course of the school year, and track the nutrients in our local soils. The bottom line is to provoke a passion for learning and to increase their self-esteem. It will show them that they too can pursue things once they graduate from high school.
