This project will allow my students to have a more engaging and exciting time during the lessons that take place at the carpet. During carpet time, my students learn their letters and sounds, how to segment words and blend sounds together, as well as how to identify and produce rhymes. We use an abundance of visuals which include, but aren’t limited to: an alphabet chart, a weekly poem, and frieze cards with the letter of the week. This easel will display each visual for my lessons and will allow the students to be more hands on! I will be able to store all of my materials in one place, which will allow for more teaching time and less distractions. By having an easel with a dry erase board, my students will be able to have a more hands on experience instead of just a visual experience! I am so excited to have this asset in my classroom!
