Instead of students being sent to the office where they are not learning at all, students can utilize a room where it is safe to feel what they feel. They can learn how to be mindful of their emotions so that it no longer gets in the way of learning. Students and teachers will have a calm, quiet, and safe place to learn how to self regulate through play, relaxation, meditation, and learning with all items requested. We have the space, we just need the tools. Young children learn through touch and sound and we want those experiences to be positive.
