The past three years we have partnered with a local university to make science come alive as we strap on waders and evaluate our local river's health! This year we have run out of supplies to do our river quality testing. To keep this project going we need to restock our testing equipment. This project gets kids out exploring our local ecosystems and teaches them amazing life skills like teamwork and problem solving. They also report out their data to help the university make better decisions to help our local environment. This project also helps them build employability skills. Each year we invite the university professor to come in and conduct a formal interview with each student and they present their findings. They are required to create a resume and dress their best. This experience is so valuable for our students to become working members of society.
