Providing my students with dry erase tables and replacing their desks would completely change our learning environment. Round tables would provide more opportunities for collaboration. Collaboration with peers builds a sense of community within the classroom. Dry erase table tops are a fun way for students to demonstrate their understanding of the content. Sharing what they have learned with peers increases engagement and helps students become self-aware of how well they understand the content. As students learn to self assess they will be more involved in the learning process. To quote one of my students, "Tables would be better than desks because you can work with your partner easier."
