I am seeking flexible seating in my classroom that includes a variety of seating options to best support all my students' needs. This flexible seating would allow students to take some ownership in their own learning environment which will increase their level of engagement in the classroom. It would also increase some sensory input which can increase blood flow to the brain and assist some students. Physical activity is linked to higher academic performance, improved behavior, and better overall health. By allowing students to self-select a surface that best meets their physical needs, we would in turn be assisting them with their learning needs as well. We hope that students will be able to increase attention, which will also increase their time of engagement in academics.
