My students are hands-on learners! They are social butterflies who love to interact and collaborate with each other. After my students complete their assignment, they work on reading and math centers. Centers are meant to keep students engaged, so I can meet with small groups. Centers are also meant to reinforce concepts students are learning. Sadly, my centers currently consist of IPAD games/ apps and hand-made activities I have created. My students deserve better! They are growing bored of my homemade games that quickly fall apart, so they often choose the IPad. So many of my students lack social skills, like sharing and cleaning up a game when they’re finished, and fine motor skills they gain from doing hands-on activities, which help them become better writers. I would love to see hands on games and activities in my centers to promote SOCIAL SKILLS, FINE MOTOR SKILLS, while still promoting READING and MATH! Please help me give them the activities to learn that they deserve.
